Most punk shows now a days is over run with tidy little emo kids with their emo girlfriends, or with punks that think wearing misfits and the clash shirts is keepin it real. But in comes a “Old school” band like Lagwagon and the scene changes big time. Dude, they are grown ass men and so they will attract that grown ass crowd, which is a good change once in a while. I remember wishing as a teen, for cool bands like NOFX or Lagwagon to stroll by Calgary. The closest they came was Toronto or Quebec, but never to the west coast. Now after like 13 years and a grown ass man later…they are coming down to Calgary to put on a good old fashioned punk rock show. Is it gonna be good? Are they gonna rock as hard as they woulda 13 years ago? I dont know man…just go see them, its Lagwagon.

Fools Gold
Just last week, I got to see Clevelands Kid Cudi perform live here in Calgary. It took a long time for him to come on, but I guess thats pretty normal for a bar show. He put on a good show, but it was kinda funny cause the show was going good, it was gett’n hot, we was throwin hands in the air, nodd’n our heads and what not, but then he left the stage without any kind of hype. And we were like, “Is this over? Is he comin back on?” I guess he ended up comin back on later, but I left by then so really it didnt matter. Still it was a fun show. Check his stuff. He mixes and raps over known tracks by artists like Ratatat, and lays down verses that explains a bit about his life scenario. Defiantly a good listen. Read More »
