Nixon Nomadic Updated Review
So I was super hyped about getting these headphones, and here is my personal opinion on them…their not that good…
First off the good points. The design is solid, it comes in some fun colors to chose from and the materials they used like the foam vs the metallic earpiece is a nice touch.
The chord has an anti-tear material on it, which is pretty much like this cloth material so if you have a tendency to rip your chord somehow…you might like this.
Also all the Nixons come in different ranks. This particular model in the picture is the Nomadic iPhone model which has iPhone answering capabilities, but its quite a bit more $$ for that function. That little silver circle on the chord before the split is the mic.
Finally, the volume nob is right on the headphone so you can turn the volume up and down with ease. That’s probably one of the best functions on these headphones.
Now lets talk about the negatives. First and foremost, these dudes are super uncomfortable. If you rockin headphones, you want them to be comfy. They have this weird shape to it where the head piece doesn’t contour your head at all. Its like you got a flat stick digging into the top of your head.
Secondly, the sponge earfoam sticks out quite a bit from the actual speaker so there is major sound leakage. If you sitting on the bus, or in the library, your totally gonna be that annoying dude that has loud crappy Euro Trance bust’n out for his phones for everyone to hear…but in your case, its not becuase it’s turned way up, it’s just because a lot of sound escapes from the sides…Whether their on your head, or on your lap, it sounds like you have mini speakers on.
If your not picky about performance, then maybe go get them. I find the WE SC ones to be more comfy. I was super stoked about these headphones, and I wish I could rock them out. They have major potential…but maybe I’ll just wait till the second or third generations come out. Or step up one rank and get the Master Blaster. They cup your ears and they are more comfy…but your paying that much more!

I agree. i bought a pair and then heard them. i was really disappointed. i tried to find reviews about it, but there really weren’t many out there and i found this one too late. luckily, i returned them. i would totally agree with this review. the sound isn’t that good and the cusions make it seem like they’re muting the sound. they look so cool but when i put them on, i looked ridiculous. it was kind of a bust cuz i thought they were going to be awesome. i wouldn’t recommend buying these.

i have no problem with them, but im tryin to spreed the word not to pop the ball out of the socket it wont fit the same when you put it back in and you will regret it
