Sad news right here for Calgary. Artlife will be closing its doors as of January…Hollars and Dollars has written about many Artlife Events and has attended many of them as well. There will be one more show and one last party before they close so show your support and show your thanks to a great venue.
The party will be held at Artlife on December 12 and the party is called “Art-Broken”. Go and have a blasty…I ain’t gon make it cause I’ll be in Japan but if I was here, I would.
The good news is that Freshlife will still be open so you can go and buy some good stuff from there. They are currently stocking on some cool Orisue and Tits stuff.

Don’t forget that tonight is the night for Artlife’s “Loungin”. This is gonna be lot’s of dope photos from across the city of the places you love to go and chill. Also the party will feature the new wine by “The Art of Wine”. I wrote about it last week sometime when I had a tasting with those cats…its a bottle filled with goodness so go to Artlife tonight and sip that grape drank son!

On Saturday, October 17 you can check out Artlife for some great wine from The Art of Wine and some great photos from around the city bars. I had the chance to taste the three wines yesterday and I must say they were great. Good concept and good vibes behind these wines and I’m digg’n it. More info on availability to come real soon.

Today would be a good day if you were in Van, cause then you would be able to attend the Livestock Block Party…I however am still in Calgary so I won’t be partaking in any of the fun-ness that will be had over there. The select Livestock/Group Seven boys will be there so you can peep some pics real soon I’m sure. But if you are in Calgary, you can also hit up the block party on 1st held by Artlife and Hifi.

Yo, here is a little write up of some dope wine coming out of California real soon with local art from Calgary featured on the bottles. As a wine man…I’m stoked to try me some of this. The labels are supposed to change up every 3-4 months with new art so the label stays real fresh! Gea Artlife! This art by John James labels the Chardonnay.

Seriously…the worst thing ever is seeing wack ass tags all over our city. If your a writer from out of town and you roll into Calgary and see all these lame tags everywhere, you gon think Caly is weak kid. All you wack writers out there…you ain’t doin our city no favors stoopid!! No joke. If you wanna write on walls, go drop by Fresh Life Boutique…pick yo self up one of these “Walls” Notebooks, it got blank walls and trucks and trains you can bomb in the comfort of your own home. Practice till you got some skills son! Skills!!…then pay some bills, climb a hill, sit and chill…and after that you can do whatever you want.

You best bring your best attire or you might be put to shame…ain’t no Lamont Sandford dress shirt nahmean’…Oh what?! Fisher Price, my first Timberlands…Yo, he look like he was breakdancin in a Law video spinnin on his Lips son! Ohhhhhhh!!!

On May 29th Leo Boutique and Nudie Jeans will Host the Recycle Denim Maniacs Fashion show and Silent Auction at Artlife Gallery in support of the World Wildlife Fund.
The event will feature one of a kind creations made completely from recycled denim, by some of Calgary’s most respected designers; including Paul Hardy, Adejoke Taiwo, Kendall Yellowhorn, Haithem Elkadiki, Diella Ocran and Taryn McKay. These pieces of wearable art will then be auctioned off, with all proceeds going to the WWF of Canada, in support of their environmental efforts in Canada.
